Students from Premier Jiang’s old department call on him to step down (2014/03/27)
Premier Jiang Yi-huah used to teach political science at National Taiwan University, but his former department has turned on him for his handling of protests against a controversial trade-in-services pact with China. Some 760 NTU political science students and graduates have signed a petition asking Jiang to step down. A protest was also held on Thursday to further vent their displeasure.
Unhappy with just shouting slogans, friends of NTU’s political science department burned a book written by Premier Jiang Yi-huah called “The Way to Democracy.”

The protesters voiced anger over the premier’s order to evict students who tried to occupy the Executive Yuan building on March 23. At a press conference held outside NTU’s College of Social Sciences, they accused Jiang of singing a different tune from his days as a professor.

(Premier Jiang) once said that if a leader lost the faith of the people, he should step down. So Premier Jiang, now that you have lost the faith of the people, please step down. Please apologize.
The premier did not respond to Thursday’s protest. But he did order officials responsible for the trade-in-services agreement to visit schools to address doubts about the pact.

不滿行政院長江宜樺下令鎮壓學生，江宜樺昔日任教的台大政治系，如今有760名學生和系友連署要求他道歉並且下臺，今天這群台大政治系的系友們，甚至拿出江宜樺著作的書籍《自由民主的理路》，點火燒掉，表達最大的抗議。
喊完抗議口號還不夠，台大政治系友們，拿出行政院長江宜樺寫的書，當場點火燒掉，而書名就叫作《自由民主的理路》。

不滿江宜樺23日晚間下令鎮壓，衝進行政院的學生們，台大政治系友選在台大社科院的正門口，召開記者會，控訴昔日的江老師，已經變調。

“(江院長)他曾經說，如果一個領導者，他沒有了人民的誠信的時候，他就應該要下台，所以江院長你現在已經失去了人民的誠信，請你下臺，請你道歉”
對於這些學生的行動，江宜樺沒有多作回應，而是下令服貿相關官員，配合學校邀請，到學校為同學對服貿的疑義做一些適度的解釋。
