Volunteer technicians pitch in to repair Legislature as students prepare to leave (2014/04/09)
Volunteer technicians and others have begun repairing damaged equipment in the Legislature. Speaker Wang Jin-pyng says several benefactors have offered to cover all costs and no public funds will be used.
Carefully checking the second floor of the Legislature, a volunteer technician identifies items that need to be repaired and sets to work immediately. Another technician carries a 3D scanner to make an accurate recording of the space.
3D Laser Scanner Technician
It makes a simultaneous recording of the X, Y and Z coordinates. Later, measurements can be seen on the computer, so we can see current conditions of the Legislature when they leave.
Estimates of damage reach up to NT$100 million. However, students have said there is a list of just 45 items that need to be repaired, and the total cost is nowhere near the previously mentioned amount. One item that is still unaccounted for is the speaker’s gavel.

There was a rumor that we found the gavel, but this turned out to be untrue, so we are still looking. We don’t have an estimate for (total repairs), but our understanding is that it won’t be as high as NT$100 million.
As for who will foot the bill for repairing the Legislature, Speaker Wang Jin-pyng says several individuals have stepped forward and offered contributions. According to Wang, no public funds will be used.

陽花學運即將畫下句點，議場的修繕作業，已經開始進行！有很多技師工會組成〝修繕團〞，義務提供協助，學生們也列出清單，包括麥克風、地毯和門窗，共45項必須維修，但他們表示，毀損金額絕對沒有上億元這麼高，而立法院長王金平也強調不會動用公款。
沿著立院2樓仔細清查，義務幫忙修繕的技師們，確定毀損狀況後，立刻展開修復作業。還有技師拿出3D雷射掃描儀，要完整紀錄學生佔領議場後的空間。

有平面報紙評估，毀損金額恐怕高達上億，學生拿出清單表示，目前有共45項物品必須整修，但金額沒有那麼高，至於國會議事槌，依舊下落不明。

“有一度傳出說，有找到，但是其實我們在確認之後，其實沒有發現，所以現在議事槌，我們也還在尋找當中。目前還沒有一個確定的估價金額，但其實我們也還在瞭解當中，應該沒有到上億元這麼多”
針對修復立院的費用，立法院長王金平表示，已有許多善心人士願意捐款，絕對不會動用到公款。
