5-year-old girl with terminal cancer gets ‘married’ to her best friend 罹患末期癌症的5歲女孩「嫁」給最好的朋友

5-year-old Eileidh Paterson from Forres, Scotland, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer, at the age of two. After that, she set about writing a list of everything she wanted to do.

5歲的伊莉德．派特森來自蘇格蘭福里斯，她在2歲時被診斷出罹患好發於兒童的罕見癌症「神經母細胞瘤」。此後，她開始寫下想做的每件事。

A trip to Disneyland Paris, painting her bedroom pink and visiting the zoo all feature, but perhaps the sweetest of all was her top wish： to marry her best friend, 6-year-old Harrison Grier.

例如，去巴黎迪士尼樂園玩、把房間漆成粉紅色、參觀動物園等，但最甜蜜的可能是她的第一願望：嫁給最好的朋友－6歲的哈里森．葛萊爾。

And he was just as keen. “Harrison has said for over a year that he was going to marry her,” The Paterson said. “He even ‘borrowed’ one of his mom’s rings to give to her.”

At the ceremony, Eileidh was walked into the room by her older brother, Callum, to the sound of Disney’s When you wish upon a star.

The couple met at the end of the aisle and was declared “best friends forever.” Instead of rings, Eileidh and Harrison exchanged St Christopher necklaces to signify the journey they’d been on.

About 30 people attended the wedding and more than 200 celebrated at the party. “It took her hair but it couldn’t take her smile. These are going to be lasting memories.” Eileidh’s mother said.
