Another musical draw is the Salzburg Festival, with its operas, dramas, and classical concerts. The movie The Sound of Music was based on Salzburg's Trapp Family Singers, who performed at the festival in the years before World War II. Much of the film was shot on location in Salzburg, and visitors can still tour the Trapp family home. If you're a fan of the movie, you definitely won't want to miss Mirabell Palace and Gardens, which was the stunning location where the Trapps sang the song "Do-Re-Mi" in the film.
