鴻海併夏普
備受關注的鴻海入股夏普案，鴻海集團董事長郭台銘，抵達大阪?市十代廠後，原本要親自帶媒體參觀導覽園區，沒想到上百位媒體從早上苦等到下午，郭台銘卻臨時取消行程，引發現場日本媒體大聲抗議。
日本媒體大聲質問，全是因為鴻海集團董事長郭台銘，原本要在夏普召開的記者會，臨時喊卡，改由副總裁代打，讓日媒不能接受。

鮮少對外開放的夏普十代廠，首度對外開放，也是史上最大規模的台日合作，吸引台灣和當地日本媒體，超過上百人爭相採訪，只是鴻海跟夏普的談判，似乎還是無解。

雖然外界都不看好面板產業，但郭董堅持投入，砸下相當台幣252億入股夏普十代面板廠，產能利用率也由年初3-4成，拉高到8月的7成，年底上看8成。
The media was eager for a tour of Sharp’s state-of-the-art flat panel factory outside of Osaka promised by Hon Hai Chairman Terry Gou. But Gou didn’t show up for the tour of the plant in which he personally owns a 38 percent stake, sending the company’s vice president instead. Gou’s absence angered the gathered media and raised questions about whether a Hon Hai-Sharp deal was on the rocks.
The Japanese media was raising questions because Terry Gou suddenly pulled out of a press conference that he had originally scheduled at the Sharp plant for today. Vice President Tai Cheng-wu stood in for him.

I’ve already apologized to all of you, and said very clearly that the key is not Chairman Terry Gou’s presence.
The event attracted more than 100 Japanese and Taiwanese media workers for a number of reasons. The 10th-generation plant had never been opened to the media before, and the potential deal between Hon Hai and Sharp would be the biggest Taiwan-Japan tie-up in history. But negotiations have yet to produce results.

We are continuing to discuss a partnership with Sharp because Chairman Gou said that we are under pressure not to fail.
The flat panel industry has been riddled with overcapacity, and analysts are not upbeat about its prospects. But Gou himself has invested NT$25.2 billion in the 10th-generation plant in Sakai outside Osaka, and its utilization rate has risen from 30-40 percent at the beginning of the year to 70 percent in August.
