New typhoon could result in a wet and windy Mid-Autumn Festival (2012/09/23)

位於菲律賓東方海面的杰拉華颱風，在上午八點鐘增強為中颱，氣象局預估，要到周二走向才會更明朗，預計中秋節前夕，將是杰拉華最接近台灣的時間。不過，今天起，台灣已經受到鋒面的影響，北部、東部及金馬外島都有短暫陣雨。
儘管今天天氣有時陰涼，陽光有時露臉，或間歇性飄下的小雨，氣象局說，周日鋒面報到，氣溫轉涼，下雨也在所難免。

“北部東半部會陸續轉為，有短暫陣雨的天氣，禮拜三之後，北部下雨情況，有機會減少一些，禮拜四之後的天氣，主要就要取決於颱風的動態”
目前杰拉華已經在周日上午八點增強為中颱，由於它近乎滯留，在海面不斷吸收水氣，氣象局研判，下週五、周六，將是它最接近台灣的日子，預料將帶來明顯降雨。

“如果按照我們目前的路徑預測，朝台灣的東方海面北上(掠過) ，星期五到星期六這兩天，是比較接近台灣的時候，北部東半部雨勢會明顯的增加”
下周日就是中秋節了，當晚能不能如願見到皎潔的圓月，就要看杰拉華賞不賞臉。
Typhoon Jelawat is currently off the east coast of the Philippines. The Central Weather Bureau predicts the path of the typhoon will be closest to Taiwan on the eve of Moon Festival.
The weather today ranged from cool and overcast to brief bouts of sunshine and intermittent rain. The Central Weather Bureau said a frontal system arrived on Sunday bringing cooler temperatures and rain.

The northern part of the eastern half of Taiwan could see brief showers and after Wednesday the northern region could see rain diminish, and beginning on Thursday weather conditions will mainly be dependent upon the direction of the typhoon.
Jelawat was upgraded to a typhoon at 8 o’clock on Sunday morning. It’s currently taking on more moisture while located in the ocean. The CWB predicts that on Friday and Saturday, it could reach its closest point to Taiwan, potentially bringing significant rainfall.

According to our current projections, it could pass through the northern part of Taiwan’s eastern seas. From Friday to Saturday, this two-day period, will see an obvious increase in rainfall in the northern part of eastern Taiwan.
Next Sunday is the Mid-Autumn Festival, when many people host BBQs and hope to spend the evening gazing at the full moon. Hopefully, Typhoon Jelawat will not force people to change such plans
