A NASA spacecraft will aim straight for the sun next year and bear the name of the astrophysicist who predicted the existence of the solar wind nearly 60 years ago. It’s the first NASA spacecraft to be named after a researcher who is still alive.
美國航空暨太空總署的1艘太空船明年將飛向太陽，該船以近60年前預測太陽風存在的天體物理科學家命名。這是航太總署第一次以仍在世的研究人員命名太空船。
The space agency announced the red-hot mission Wednesday at the University of Chicago. Scheduled to launch in summer 2018, the Parker Solar Probe will fly within 4 million miles of the sun’s surface _ right into the solar atmosphere.

It will be subjected to brutal heat and radiation like no other man-made structure before.

The purpose is to study the sun’s outer atmosphere and better understand how stars like ours work.
