New Year's Eve is a fun but busy time of year. Many people throw parties to celebrate, and some cities even put on fireworks displays. Everyone goes out to watch the fireworks light up the sky when the clock strikes twelve. As a result, there can be thousands of people on the streets, so cities have to make special plans to close roads to traffic. Usually, only some roads will be closed near the fireworks display and just for a few hours before and after midnight. This way there is not too much disruption to traffic.

Green City has a fireworks display each New Year's Eve. The display happens at the Green City Tower, right in the city center. Each year, the Green City government puts out a map showing people which roads will be closed during the night. Maps like this will show the name of each road and use different colored lines to show which roads will be closed.

Red Area

12/31 (Mon) 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Blue Area

12/31 (Mon) 10 p.m. to 1/1 (Tue) 3 a.m.
