什麼＂fit”是指很合適嗎？案子往後延了很合適，為什麼同事的臉色這麼難看？

1. Have a fit
（Ｘ）很合適
（Ｏ）大發脾氣、暴怒

Fit 這個字有很多延伸的用法，在商業語境中，它常用來表達「合適」或「適應」的意思。例如：
With her qualifications, she should fit the job perfectly.　以她的資歷，應該完全能勝任這份工作。
但在”have a fit”裡，fit卻有另一個意思。在這裡，"fit" 指的是「突然的強烈情緒反應」，特別指因憤怒、驚訝或焦慮而突然爆發情緒。這個 "fit" 原來是指「癲癇發作」，可想見這情緒之爆烈。現在have a fit多用來比喻強烈的情緒爆發。例如：

• The CEO had a fit when he heard about the budget overrun. 當CEO聽到預算超支時，他非常生氣。

“Have a fit”的have，也可以用throw，throw a fit，意思也是「爆怒」。

• She'll throw a fit when she sees the mess you've made.她一旦看見你弄的這一團糟會大發脾氣的。

2. Fit the bill

Fit/Match/Suit
既然提到fit，就一併來看看幾個和fit意思相近容易搞混的字match、suit。
Fit、match 和 suit 這三個字都有「合適」之意，但重點不太一樣：

1. Fit
指形狀、尺寸、條件上的合適。是指物理上的契合，強調外觀。
例句：

• The shoes fit me perfectly. 這雙鞋大小很合適。

• I'm sure we'll have something to fit your requirements.　我肯定我們會有符合您要求的東西。

2. Match
指看起來相似，相配，或看起來協調，強調整體。

• The curtains match the sofa. 窗簾和沙發很搭配。

• This signature doesn't match the one on the credit card.這個簽名跟信用卡上的簽名不相配。

3. Suit
指在風格、用途或效果上很合適，強調個人感受。

• That dress really suits you. 那件裙子真的很適合你。

• The new working hours suit me better. 新的工作時間對我來說更合適。
