意謂與其生銹壞了浪費掉，不如用壞了，等同於與其閒死，不如忙死。
活學活用：
Wear out：作動詞，指耐用致磨損，變腐
─ His patience was worn out at last. 他終於忍不住了。
─ the metal is wearing. 金屬慢慢磨損了。
─ His clothes became worn out. 他衣服穿得舊了、破了。
Rust：以上作動詞用，指生銹、荒廢了
─ Talent left to rust. 空有才華，懷才不遇
─ rub （or get） the rust（名詞） off the car 擦去車子上的銹
─ rustless (形容詞)，不銹的
二、 Whatever is worth doing at all is worth doing well.
意思指凡是值得做的事情都應值得好好地做。
活學活用：
worth：以上作形容詞用，指值得
─ It is worth 10 dollars. 它值十元的價值。
─ He is worth a million. 他1身價百萬。
─ It is not worth seeing. 不值得看。
