Accept這個字看似簡單，但它的錯誤率卻極高，而且錯誤的範圍涵蓋很廣，從中式英文、文法用錯、發音錯誤都有。

Accept指「接受、認可、同意」，在email中常常出現，例如：

• Please accept this letter as my formal apology. 請接受這封信作為我的正式道歉。
• I accept with pleasure the position of Marketing Manager at your company. 我很榮幸接受貴公司行銷經理的職位。
• I'm glad to accept your meeting request that you scheduled on Jan. 31, 2023.  我很樂意接受你安排在 2023年1月31日的會議請求。

但並非所有的「接受」，都直接用accept，來看幾個常見錯誤。

accept vs receive 「接受」和「接到」

（Ｘ）She hopes her children will accept a good education.

（Ｏ）She hopes her children will get a good education.

Accept的接受指的是「同意、主動或自願地接受」，「接受教育」並非這樣的概念。可以用have／get就好。「接受教育」也可以用receive：

He was at a disadvantage because of the poor education he had received. 因為沒有接受過好的教育，他一直處於劣勢。

Receive和accept，都有「接受」之意，差別在哪裡？

Receive，指「收到」或「接到」，單指這個動作，不包括同不同意的層面；而accept是「同意、接受」，從這個例子很容易看得出來：

She received the job offer, but she didn’t accept it. 她收到那份工作邀請，但是沒有接受。 

accept vs agree 「接受」和「同意」

我們欣然接受在周末工作。

（Ｘ）We readily accept to work on weekends.

（Ｏ）We readily agree to work on weekends.

剛提過accept可以當「同意」，但它同意的是一件事，一個名詞，而不是去做一個動作（to do something）。英文裡沒有accept to的結構；如果接受去做某件事，用agree to。

我沒辦法接受辣的食物。

(X)I won't accept spicy food.

(O)I don't like spicy food. ／ I can’t handle spicy food.

無法接受辣的食物，並非同意問題，而是喜好問題，不要被中文影響，這時候用like或handle比較合邏輯。

發音錯誤：

Accept的發音是[U+259kˋsU+25Bpt]

注意兩個C都有發音，前一個發[k]，後一個發[s]，很多人把前一個Ｃ的發音[k] 漏掉了。
