The novel Ferryman is a story that centers around life, death, and true love. Its main character is a teenage girl from Scotland named Dylan. While she’s traveling by train to meet her father, the train crashes and she passes out.

小說《擺渡人》是一個圍繞在生死議題及真愛的故事。本書主角是名為荻倫的蘇格蘭少女。她搭火車去見父親時火車卻意外撞毀，而她也暈了過去。

When Dylan wakes up, she is in a dark tunnel and everyone else on the train has vanished. She crawls out of the tunnel and sees a boy waiting for her. The boy tells her his name is Tristan and that she has died. He explains that he’s her ferryman. It’s his job to help her get to the afterlife and to protect her from evil ghosts.

荻倫醒過來時發現自己置身在一條昏暗的隧道裡，火車上的其他人都消失了。她爬出隧道後看到有個男孩在等著她。男孩跟她說他的名字叫崔斯坦，並告訴她她已經死了。他接著表示自己是她的擺渡人。他的職責是幫助她到達死後世界，並保護她不受惡靈的傷害。

During their journey to the afterlife, Dylan and Tristan fall in love. Before they arrive, Dylan asks Tristan to join her so they can remain together. Tristan thinks that this is impossible, but says he will try. After Dylan reaches the afterlife, she can’t forget about Tristan. She decides she will do whatever it takes to see him once again.

前往死後世界的途中，荻倫和崔斯坦墜入了愛河。他們抵達目的地前，荻倫問崔斯坦是否要和她一起走，這樣他們就可以在一起。崔斯坦認為這是不可能的事，但表示會試試看。荻倫抵達死後世界之後，卻怎樣也無法忘記崔斯坦。她決定不惜一切代價都要再見他一面。
