A Cabinet reshuffle will lead to six posts being filled with new faces. The biggest change was at the Ministry of the Interior, where Cabinet Secretary-General Chen Wei-zen will replace Minister Lee Hong-yuan.

Lee Hong-yuan was among the most popular members of the Cabinet, but reported discord with Premier Jiang Yi-huah made him look vulnerable. Kuo brothers find success with online sales (2014/02/26)

A pair of brothers is finding success with a trio of websites after their initial web venture was purchased by the deal-of-the-day site Groupon in 2010. Jerry and Andy Kuo have branched out into online sales. After seeing revenues of NT$300 million last year, they hope to reach the billion NT mark this year and look forward to a potential OTC or stock market listing in the near future.

Students from Kaohsiung’s Cheng Shiu University recently returned from a Malaysian innovation expo. They proudly showed off award-winning inventions ranging from flotation devices to remote controlled vehicles. 

Fine particulate matter leads to poor air quality across much of Taiwan (2014/02/26)

The recent spell of good weather has been disrupted by increased air pollution. A total of nine regions across Taiwan yesterday saw fine particulate matter indices exceed recommended standards, with the southwest being the worst affected.
