The student occupation of the Legislature has security forces on edge. From midday today, police began to increase traffic restrictions in Boai Special District, where the Presidential Office is located. 

Barricades can be seen throughout the area, and the grounds of the office and Ketagalan Boulevard in front of it are heavily fortified. Side doors of the Executive Yuan and the National Police Agency are closed while large security contingents are stationed outside. A spokesman for the students occupying the Legislature criticized these deployments, however. He would rather see officials spend their time negotiating a solution to the dispute over the trade-in-services pact.

員警合力搬運拒馬，鎖緊螺絲、綁上鐵條固定，放眼過去，總統府周圍、凱達格蘭大道全被拒馬或蛇籠包圍。距離立院不遠的行政院和警政署，關閉側門，正門則派大批盾牌員警防守，警方坦言，上頭指示這麼做，就怕週末抗議群眾，遍地開花。
