Ignored by the president, students call for wider action (2014/03/21)

Students continue to occupy the Legislature over their opposition to a trade-in-services pact that Taiwan signed with China. With President Ma Ying-jeou failing to meet their demands, the students are urging all people to join in nationwide protests tomorrow at KMT offices.

After four days, student groups are getting increasingly frustrated with President Ma’s refusal to give a public response to their occupation.

Now we are facing not just a simple constitutional dispute. The president has completely lost legitimacy.

Ma Ying-jeou should immediately respond to our two demands. The first is to send the trade-in-services pact back to China. The second is to pass supervision guidelines governing cross-strait agreements during this current legislature term.

Aside from their continued occupation of the Legislatures, students vowed to expand their protest.

Tomorrow (March 22), we call upon people from across the country to participate in a sit-in protests at KMT party offices around Taiwan. At the same time, we urge them to put pressure on their legislators.

One student spray painted a protest message on the wall of the Legislature which reads “when a dictatorship emerges, revolution is an obligation.” The sentiment has become a slogan associated with the occupation.

包圍國民黨

服貿學生團體佔據議場邁入第四天，原本學生要求，今天中午12點要和馬總統對話，沒想到府方遲遲沒有回應，學生代表林飛帆哽咽，不但要擴大國會抗爭，更要號召全國民眾，到各地國民黨部靜坐，逼馬總統出來面對！

等了四天，還是等不到馬總統出面回應，學生團體哽咽、也憤怒了！

“現在我們所面臨的，已經不是單純的憲法爭議，而是總統他的統治的正當性，已經徹底喪失”

反服貿不再是單一事件，學生團體再一次重申訴求。

“馬英九應該立刻回應兩項訴求，第一退回服務貿易協議，第二推動在本會期內，制定兩岸協議監督條例”

除了續留立院，學生們還要擴大抗爭。

“明天(22號)號召全國各地群眾，以靜坐的型式，包圍各地的國民黨黨部，並同時向選區的立委施壓”

有學生在議場外牆噴上『當獨裁成為事實，革命就是義務』13個大字，儼然成為這次行動的精神標語。
