Students occupying Legislature express support for students who stormed Executive Yuan (2014/03/24)

Students occupying the Legislature voiced support today for Wei Yang and the other demonstrators who stormed the Executive Yuan. Today student leader Chen Wei-ting wondered why people like Wei are persecuted for their efforts to expose the truth.

Grabbing the microphone and refusing to budge, despite direct threats from the captain of the Zhongzheng 1st Police Precinct, is Tsinghua University graduate student Wei Yang.

Wei was seen as the leader of the Executive Yuan occupation. He eased fear of reprisal felt among his peers.

Sunday evening’s siege of the Executive Yuan led to Wei’s arrest early Monday morning. Soon afterwards, his mother boarded a flight from Hualien to Taipei to meet with him.

His comments worried me. I hugged him and cried. Both his hands and his chest are wounded and his head was beaten. This is no different than the martial law era. It’s actually worse.

Students inside the Legislature are showing support for Wei.

I really don’t understand why you are so tolerant of those in power. But you castigate someone without any power who only wants to tell the truth but is suppressed and beaten.

Professors and lawyers have also voiced support for Wei. They say that the people who need to be reprimanded are overzealous police.

週日晚間攻佔行政院的清大學生魏揚，在清晨被警方以現行犯逮捕。他的母親一早從花蓮趕到台北探望，他力挺兒子反服貿，但是對於兒子遭到警方暴力對待，痛批比戒嚴更糟糕。

拿著麥克風，面對中正一分局長的喊話，絲毫不為所動。他就是清大社會所研究生，魏揚。

學生搶佔行政院，魏揚穿梭其中總指揮，一邊還要安撫同學情緒。

如果大家就是今天要出去，然後被指責的話，那就是，是我負責。

週日晚間發動攻佔行政院後，週一清晨魏揚被警方逮捕，他的母親一大早就從花蓮搭飛機北上探望。

他(魏揚)說讓我擔心了，我就抱抱他哭了一下，兩手跟胸部被棍子戳傷，頭部是被打了，這跟戒嚴時期幾乎沒兩樣，有些狀況比戒嚴時期更糟糕。

至於在立法院的學生，聲援被檢方認定是首謀的魏揚。

我真的不懂你們，?什麼對掌權的人這麼寬容，對於沒有權力，一路被壓著打，一路想要提出事實的人，卻是這樣地嚴苛。

另外也有多位教授和律師都站出來聲援魏揚，他們認為該被起訴的是濫權警察。
