The head of the National Security Bureau says that China Airlines received a warning last week about a possible terrorist attack on Beijing. The missing Malaysian flight was Beijing bound, but the bureau says the warning likely isn’t related to the missing airliner. 

Labor minister: No appeal in government loan dispute (2014/03/10)

Labor Minister Pan Shih-wei says he will respect a ruling that millions in payments made to laborers affected by a plant closing in 1997 do not need to be repaid. Pan’s decision to not appeal Friday’s ruling, and to end related ongoing lawsuits, brings to an end one of Taiwan’s highest profile labor disputes.

21-year-old pitcher Wang Wei-chung got a surprise shot at the major leagues when the Milwaukee Brewers selected him in last year’s Rule 5 Draft. This spring training, he’s doing his best to stick. In his second relief appearance, Wang pitched two innings against the Colorado Rockies and recorded two strikeouts. It was an improvement on his first appearance, and Wang kept his ERA at zero. The Brewers won 5-3.
