Lo Chia-jen, Wang Wei-chung continue push to make opening day roster (2014/03/14)
Two Taiwanese players hoping to be on a Major League Baseball roster for the start of the coming season are the Houston Astros Lo Chia-jen and the Milwaukee Brewers Wang Wei-chung. Both took the mound in spring training for their respective clubs on Thursday.
We begin in Florida where, for his fourth appearance of spring training, Lo Chia-jen entered in the bottom of the ninth against the Toronto Blue Jays. Lo began by giving up consecutive hits – allowing the Blue Jays to score. But he followed with three fastballs that ended the ball game. It was Lo’s second save of spring and kept him in the running to serve as Houston’s closer. But for Lo, just being on the opening day roster is enough.

Just making the majors is good. I don’t necessarily need to close. Just being a middle reliever is fine. There’s a person who’s a good choice now for closer, so I’m not going to aim for this spot.
The Astros are a young team, and Lo hopes he can secure a role.
Lo has pitched three and a third innings in four appearances this spring. He has five strikeouts and has given up one walk and one earned run. His ERA is 2.7.
Another Taiwanese pitcher who took the mound on Thursday was the Milwaukee Brewers Wang Wei-chung. He needed just five pitches to complete the full ninth inning and send the San Diego Padres packing. Wang has pitched six innings this spring and has given up neither a run nor a walk. Both the Brewers and the Astros won.

“能上大聯盟就是個好事，也不說要佔終結者還是怎樣，中繼也可以啊 ，終結者現在有個特別好的人選，所以我不會刻意想佔這個位置”
羅嘉仁也期待，在這個年輕的球隊，站穩根基。
總計整個春訓四場比賽3.1局的投球中，羅嘉仁5次三振只投出一次四壞，失一分自責分，防禦率2.7,整體表現穩定。
至於另一位台將，釀酒人的將王維中，今天在熱身賽第九局登板，王維中只投了五球，就輕鬆結束教士隊的攻勢。熱身賽至今出賽四場投了六局，防禦率還是完美的零，更叫人的激賞的，就是沒有任何四壞球保送。而釀酒人隊跟太空人隊都贏了此次的比賽。
