Largan share price sets record for electronics shares in Taiwan (2014/02/27)
The highest-priced stock on the Taiwan market has set a new milestone. Shares of smartphone camera lens maker Largan Precision closed at NT$1,320 a share on Wednesday, setting a record for electronics stocks in the local bourse’s history. And Largan shares continued to climb on Thursday.
Largan supplies camera lenses to major smartphone brands, and its stock is soaring. The company’s shares rose on Thursday to a high of NT$1,405 before closing up around 2 percent at NT$1,345.
On Wednesday, Largan shares vaulted above HTC’s high of NT$1,300 a share set in April 2011 to become the highest-priced electronics stock in the market’s history, and the third highest of any kind. Only Cathay Life and Taiwan Match Wood Co. have hit higher. One analyst believed Largan’s rise isn’t just about the company.

The unusual rises in weighted and high-priced stocks in the past couple of days have been because of MSCI’s adjustment in index weightings. It had nothing to do with fundamentals.
Buying Largan Precision shares now requires a lot of cash on hand. Based on Thursday’s closing price, one lot of 1,000 shares costs over NT$1.3 million, but there’s a payoff. One lot of Largan shares gained NT$25,000 Thursday, roughly the starting salary for new entrants to the job market.
Once just another medium-sized enterprise, Largan now supplies lenses for both Apple and non-Apple mobile devices, helping it become a world-class vendor with assets of NT$12.3 billion.

台股新股王大立光，今天再創電子股歷史新高，打破宏達電創下1300元的紀錄，收在1345元，是台股史上第三高價，雖然今天收盤只上漲25元，但是光是一天上漲的價格，就是部份上班族一個月的薪水。
做光學鏡頭的大立光，股價持續飆升，今天盤中最高來到1405元，最後以1345元收盤，漲約2%。
但已經打破宏達電2011年創下的1300元電子股最高價紀錄，並僅次於1989年國泰金創下的1975元，和台火的1420元，擠進台股史上第三高天價紀錄。有分析師認為，大立光股價的拉高不只是公司本身的表現。

這兩天權值股或是高價股，異常拉高的現象，都是屬於MSCI調整權狀的動作之一，跟基本面是完全脫鉤的。
現在想擁有大立光股票，資金得夠充裕，以週四收盤價1345元來計算，一張價值至少134.5萬，而且以當天上漲的幅度來計算，一天就能進帳2萬5，相當於社會新鮮人一個月的薪水。
大立光通吃蘋果和非蘋果手機鏡頭訂單，從一間中小企業，蛻變成資產有123億的世界級大廠。
