Panda-monium
The Taipei City government continued its panda promotions – this time choosing the start of the long holiday to launch a fun exhibit. A French artist created 1,600 paper pandas that were put on display in the square in front of Taipei City Hall. Another 20 pandas were available for hugging and photo ops. The exhibit was a hit among visitors.
Colorful Buses
Five buses provided by the New Taipei Transportation Department became the center of an unusual art project. The Cultural Affairs Department invited nearly 200 students from Banqiao’s Zhongshan Elementary School to paint the buses, which were stored at the 435 Art Zone. Today, for the start of the long weekend holiday, the buses plied the streets of New Taipei.
Cherry Blossoms
Another popular activity this holiday weekend is cherry tree viewing. According to an online poll, six of the 10 most popular places to view cherry trees are in central Taiwan. Included among them is Jhuoshuei Lane, Taichung. Cherry trees are also dispersed throughout Nanzhuang Township, Miaoli, where they will continue to flower next month.

紙貓熊開幕
二二八連假開跑,台北巿打出貓熊牌,由法國藝術家打造的1600隻紙雕貓熊,今天在台北市政府廣場展出,為了讓民眾看得到也摸得到,主辦單位還特別準備20隻紙貓熊,讓民眾可以抱著拍照,不少人都超興奮,直呼萌翻了。
新北彩繪車
為了打造城市美學,新北市政府文化局,日前在板橋435藝文特區,由交通局提供五輛公車,邀請將近200位板橋中山國小小朋友,一起為公車彩繪。因為從228今天開始,這五輛彩繪公車,就會正式行駛在新北市的街頭。
南庄櫻花鄉
228連續假期,出遊賞櫻是個不錯選擇!根據網路調查,全台十大賞櫻爆紅景點,前十名,中部地區就囊括了六個,包括冠軍的台中濁水巷。苗栗南庄鄉,更是處處盛開,花期可持續至三月。
