Chen Wei-yin gets his first start of spring training as Orioles battle Yankees (2014/03/05)

Taiwan’s Chen Wei-yin started for the first time this spring as the Baltimore Orioles faced the New York Yankees in spring training. Chen pitched two innings and induced two double plays, but also gave up five hits and two runs. 

Facing leadoff hitter Jacoby Ellsbury, Chen Wei-yin surrendered a walk. From there Chen looked strong, as he got the next batter, Derek Jeter, to hit into a double play. Chen would later get Carlos Beltran out on strikes. The start of the second inning was much like the first, as Chen gave up a hit then induced a double play.

But Chen’s luck would soon run out. Francisco Cervelli turned on a high fastball which left the yard. Then, Chen gave up three consecutive hits and another run.

Chen pitched two innings. Though his results were not ideal, he felt good.

In the beginning I had some minor problems with control, but I got it back after making a few corrections. I feel satisfied with my performance.

The Orioles scored in the third inning then tacked on two more runs in the seventh to eke out a 3 to 2 victory.

偉殷戰洋基

效力金鶯隊的我國投手陳偉殷，今天首度在熱身賽先發，出戰洋基隊，陳偉殷主投兩局製造兩次雙殺，演出一次三振，但也被擊出五支安打，其中包括一發陽春砲，總共失掉兩分，金鶯在七局上半演出逆轉秀，終場以3比2擊敗洋基，陳偉殷無關勝敗。

面對第一棒Ellsbury，陳偉殷就投出保送，還好靠著Jeter的雙殺打，及三振Beltran化解危機。二局的模式一開始和第一局很類似，一支安打加上一支雙殺打。

但接下來卻完全不同，一顆偏高的直球被Cervelli轟出全壘打。接著，陳偉殷連續被擊出三支安打，包括這球穿越三遊之間，再掉一分。

陳偉殷主投二局下場，雖然成績不理想，但他自己感覺狀況不錯。

金鶯接著分別在第三局攻下1分，第七局再攻下兩分，終場以3比2擊敗洋基。
