Blame the Blogs? (2014/03/10)

Legislator Hsu Shao-ping is urging the Food and Drug Administration to hold blog writers and culinary show hosts responsible for the quality of products they endorse. 

The administration seems in agreement with Hsu’s concerns. It is crafting legislation that would allow for fines of between NT$40,000 and NT$4 million for those who recommend products that are later found to violate food safety or quality regulations.

立委徐少萍今添要求食品藥物管理署，往後要是食品出問題，針對部落客或美食節目主持人，在網路或電視節目推荐美食，要比照藥粧廣告代言人，負連帶責任。

食藥署也正在研議相關法案，食藥署長葉明功表示，很多部落客與主持人其實是接受廠商委託，因此應負起代言人的責任，按照影響度還有金額影響層面的多寡，罰鍰的範圍為4到400萬元。
